Awards fanfare and feedback

Submissions for the Consult Australia Awards for Excellence are now open, with a deadline of Thursday 19 December. This year, for the first time, a dedicated feedback portal will give entrants valuable insights to help refine future submissions.

Low-carbon concrete

Major Road Projects Victoria, Arup, the University of Melbourne and Hanson Australia have made an innovative push towards sustainable infrastructure, after replacing concrete’s cement binder with up to 30% calcined clays.

1,100-tonne tunnel borer 

Tunnel boring machine Ruby is carving out the final 24-kilometre section of tunnel for the city-shaping Sydney Metro West project. A total of 460,000 tonnes of material will be excavated.
