Consult Australia Champions of Change – The Consult Australia Champions of Change group was established in 2016 with a focus on increasing the representation and influence of women in our industry. The group is committed to consistent and sustainable progress in advancing more and diverse women, creating safe, respectful and inclusive cultures, removing structural inequities, and designing systems and workplaces for a truly gender-equal future. The ambition is to achieve inclusive gender equality across our workplaces within a generation.
National Mental Health Commission – Consult Australia is proud to support the National Mental Health Commission's new Mentally Healthy Workplace digital platform. The platform houses a range of resources on how to create mentally healthy workplaces and showcases best practices across a wide range of industries - including a case study on Consult Australia!
Beyond Blue – Works to raise awareness of depression, anxiety and suicide prevention, reduce the stigma surrounding these issues, and to encourage people to seek support when they need it. Beyond Blue promotes good mental health across a range of population groups and places in which people live, learn work and play through strong partnerships with academics, governments, NGOs, the corporate sector, service providers, and the community.
Black Dog Institute – A research organisation that aims to reduce the incidence of mental illness, and the stigma around it, to actively reduce suicide rates and empower everyone to live the most mentally healthy lives possible. The Black Dog Institute are focused on creating a world where mental illness is treated with the same level of concern, immediacy and seriousness as physical illness.
Heads up – Developed by Beyond Blue and supported by the Mentally Healthy Workplaces Alliance, Heads Up provides individuals and businesses tools to creating mentally healthy workplaces. These tools include personal stories and case studies, training and online programmes, webinars, and the latest statistics and research.
Lifeline – Lifeline is a crisis support service that provides a free service on suicide prevention, mental health support and other related support by telephone, face-to-face and online. The organisation is supported by a number of volunteer crisis supporters. In addition to crisis support services, lifeline also runs national community campaigns to raise funds and promote awareness.
Mates in construction – Mates in Construction was a charity established in 2008 to reduce the high level of suicide among Australian construction workers. The charity has delivered an integrated programme of training to raise awareness that there is a problem with suicide and the contributing risk factors in the construction industry, and support to provide clear pathways to help and case management processes that ensures workers are getting the appropriate help.
NewAccess for Small Business Owners – A Beyond Blue mental health initiative that provides small business owners with confidential and free low intensity early intervention mental health support. The initiative includes mental health coaches have a lived experience of operating a small business, coaching is available Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm AEST online or via telephone, and no referral or mental health care plan is needed, and access to six structured sessions.
R U OK? At Work – The R U OK? Day Foundation have developed material to support conversations about mental health in the workplace.
Safe Work Australia – An Australian Government statutory agency with the primary role of developing policies to improve work health and safety arrangements across Australia. The organisation is responsible for coordinating and developing national policy and strategies, undertaking research and developing model work health and safety laws for implementation by states and territories.
