Federal Budget Submission

Federal Budget Submission

Each year, Consult Australia makes a submission to the Australian Government to inform the preparation of the next federal budget. In 2024, Consult Australia has made three core recommendations, none which require new capital investment, all underpinned by smart policy reform.

Three reform proposals outlined in Consult Australia’s submission to the Australian Government are focused on unlocking productivity, improving workforce retention and restoring balance to the contractual relationships through procurement.

“Our members design the future,” says Consult Australia’s Head of Policy and Government Relations Kristy Eulenstein.

“Every design, advisory and engineering service provided by our members has a positive impact on job growth, community connectivity and economic productivity. But without reform, productivity of the broader construction industry will continue to lag, and innovation stifled.”

Consult Australia’s recommendations, aligned with Australian Government’s priorities, are:

“Our submission is crystal clear: member businesses are critical to the delivery of generational investment in infrastructure and construction,” Kristy notes.

“By better harnessing the thriving knowledge-led professional services sector which supports the construction and infrastructure supply chain, the Australian Government can move closer towards its priority of a stronger, more resilient economy.”
