If collaboration is the ‘X factor’ that drives successful delivery of Defence projects, then Collab X on 29 February 2024 is the knowledge exchange not to miss.

Now in its third year, Collab X has grown into a powerhouse of in-person collaboration between Consult Australia’s members, other industry representatives and Australia’s Defence Security and Estate Group.

“This year’s participants expressed their enthusiasm for the open dialogue, and some said it was their best conference of 2023,” says Jonathan Cartledge, Consult Australia’s CEO.

“Members told us they left with a deeper understanding of Defence strategy and where the work will come from, which is imperative to industry confidence.”

The open conference format encourages questions from the floor, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas, while networking opportunities throughout the day forge valuable new connections, Jonathan adds.

In 2023, 30% of Collab X speakers were women; Consult Australia is actively pursuing 40:40:20 across panels and speakers for 2024.

Among the hot topics for discussion in 2024 are market capacity and productivity as well as valuing carbon. A panel with specialists from across the spectrum of defence, construction and consultancy firms, will peer into a crystal ball to see where collaborative action can take us.
