Following its appointment to deliver signalling works on the Cross River Rail program, Egis has welcomed an experienced signalling team to its Brisbane office.

 

Keiwan Tang, Dusit Poomsawat, Ben Phillips, Fiona Howkins, Anita Rudge, Steve Ingram, Susan Woodward, Andy Rudge, Trevor Stone, Nisakarn Nipariyai and Sundar Ramaswamy bring decades of combined experience across Queensland Rail, the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) and major rail infrastructure projects. The appointments expand Egis’ growing rail offering across Australia.

Chris Kline has stepped into the Managing Director role at Douglas Partners, succeeding Will Wright, who led the engineering and environmental consultancy for 12 years. Will remains on the board and returns to consulting.

 

Chris is a Chartered Professional Engineer and contaminated sites specialist, with experience across groundwater, environmental and geotechnical assessments for major infrastructure and urban development projects.

Steensen Varming has appointed Kres Mali as Associate Director, supporting its Fire Services and Hydraulic team. Kres has more than 20 years’ experience in hydraulic and building services engineering, including senior roles with LCI Consultants, Building Services Engineers, Wood & Grieve Engineers and Arup. Most recently a Principal at LCI Consultants, he brings extensive experience across major developments to Steensen Varming’s multidisciplinary engineering team.

Lieutenant General (Retd) Sir David Eastman KBE, former deputy chief of the general staff to the British Army, has joined Mott MacDonald, the employee-owned engineering, management and development consultancy, as its Global Defence Capability Director.

 

Based in Brisbane, Sir David will deepen Mott MacDonald’s global defence capability offering, drawing on his extensive experience in military operations, strategic planning and capability development. He will work alongside Mitch Mitchell CB, MBE who has taken on the role of global market lead for defence and security.

 

During his time in the British Army, Sir David served across the globe, including on operations in Bosnia, Kosovo, Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan twice. Commenting on his appointment, Sir David said: “Delivering an effective defence capability in such a complex, geopolitical environment requires an integrated approach that connects strategy, people, infrastructure, technology and operations. I’m looking forward to working with the brilliant people from across Mott MacDonald’s global network to help governments and defence organisations navigate this challenge.”

Architectus has appointed three design leaders. Principal Nicole Milne has joined the Brisbane studio, Her projects range from a 394-apartment luxury residential tower in a Queensland coastal suburb, to a retail and residential master plan for a new precinct in Brisbane, to a Gold Coast hotel and apartments with 200 rooms and 160 residences.

 

In Melbourne, the Living team has welcomed Associate Principal Cameron Donald. His portfolio of work includes Collins Wharf 4, the award-winning 35 Spring Street, and 6 Star Green Star rated 171 Collins Street.

 

Associate Principal Adrianne Fisher recently arrived in Melbourne, following a 30 year career of practice in the Netherlands, most recently as Director of Advanced Buildings at OMA. Her portfolio includes the Prestige Liberty office towers and retail centre in Mumbai, India, and the 24,000sqm Palais de Justice courts project in Lille, France.
