Todd Battley leads Aurecon in Australia

Aurecon has appointed Todd Battley as its new Chief Executive for Australia. He joins from AECOM where he held roles including Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Executive for Australia and New Zealand. 


“I’m looking forward to steering Aurecon to continue to innovate and do things differently,” Todd says. “Within our sector, there is huge potential to scale our services and in an increasingly cost-conscious environment, the key to our success will be delivering differentiated client service effectively.

GHD appoints new leader

GHD has new Regional General Manager for South Queensland. Malcolm Dixon returns to Australia after serving four years as the Regional General Manager for GHD’s Western Canada operations.


Having recently arrived in Brisbane, Malcolm says he is “thrilled” to contribute to GHD’s success in South Queensland. “Having worked in major projects across transportation, water, and energy markets, I'm excited to help our clients achieve their project goals.”

TC Chew to drive Arup’s expansion plans

Arup is targeting significant growth in the Asia Pacific region with the appointment of a new APAC Managing Director, TC Chew.


TC Chew moves into the Managing Director role from his position as the firm’s Global Rail Business Leader. Prior to joining Arup in 2018, he held a range of senior executive positions in the APAC region and will be relocating to Singapore for the position. 


Arup has a well-established market presence for more than six decades with 28 offices across the APAC region. The firm aims to grow its headcount of over 6,400 in APAC to around 10,000 by 2030. 

NAIF’s Craig Doyle to retire

Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility (NAIF)

Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility (NAIF) CEO, Craig Doyle, will retire from his position in August 2025. Craig joined NAIF as CEO in June 2022 and has since overseen NAIF’s portfolio of investments ranging from large-scale resource and energy developments to social infrastructure projects. Federal Minister for Northern Australia, Madeleine King, paid tribute to Craig’s leadership, including support for “$1.3 billion of loans estimated to return $20 billion in public benefit to northern Australia.” 

RLB in NSW appoints new Managing Director

Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) in NSW has appointed Paul Skinner as Managing Director. With 28 years of experience in quantity surveying, including 11 years as a Director, Paul is the seventh Managing Director of RLB in NSW.


Paul assumes the reins from Stephen Mee, who will continue to contribute to RLB in his new role as Director. He will be supported by an experienced leadership team including: Mark Sims, Mark Hocking, Oliver Nichols, Richard Rigby, Mark Brasher, Michael Mihailou, Syidah Arnold and Ryan Jones. Paul’s appointment comes as RLB celebrates its 240-year anniversary in 2025. 

NAWIC scholarship winner announced

Engineer Nicole Waterman, Project Leader at Laing O’Rourke is the recipient of the NSW Executive Women's Leadership Scholarship. A talented engineer who has led teams of up to 250 people, Nicole currently leads the TAP3 Footbridge Project at St Marys NSW. She was Delivery Partner Lead on the $2 billion Western Tunnelling Package and played a key role in the Central Station upgrade for Sydney Metro. The scholarship, sponsored by the NSW Government, was awarded at the NAWIC NSW International Women’s Day lunch on Thursday 6 March 2025.

Cundall is leveraging its global reach, appointing Nanda Muthuvel as Technical Director for its Australian business in Melbourne. Nanda has relocated from Cundall’s Singapore office to support power systems consultancy locally and offer essential expertise in high, medium and low voltage infrastructure and systems.


Nanda has extensive experience in designing and constructing power and critical systems projects and has delivered numerous data centre and power system projects. David Collins, Managing Director of Cundall in Australia said: “As demand for data centres in Australia continues to rise, the need for skilled and experienced engineers to design, build and maintain these critical infrastructures has never been greater.”
