Winning both the Champion of Change – Diversity & Inclusion Award and the Consult Australia President’s Award, Bill was recognised for his transformative leadership in fostering inclusivity and driving industry-wide change.
Since becoming CEO in 2019, Bill has positioned Aurecon as a leader in workplace inclusivity. Overseeing a team of 7,000 engineers, designers and advisors, Bill has pioneered initiatives that redefine the workplace experience and champion equal and equitable opportunities for all employees.
Under Bill’s stewardship, Aurecon has increased its female workforce to 38% and reduced its gender pay gap. The firm has also maintained its Employer of Choice for Gender Equality status since 2015.
Bill’s commitment to First Nations inclusion has been equally impactful. Aurecon has tripled First Nations employment and increased procurement spend with First Nations businesses by 25% in the past year alone.
He has amplified voices of LGBTQIA+ community members, individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, veterans, and people who are neurodiverse or living with disabilities.
Bill has also driven Aurecon’s award-winning ‘From Bystander to Upstander’ training, completed by more than 7,388 employees.

Beyond Aurecon, Bill is a key advocate. He co-chairs the Elevate Advisory Group, guiding the $41.2 million Boosting Women in STEM scholarship program.
