Arup’s work on the Sydney Metro Martin Place Integrated Station Development earned the Collaboration for Project Excellence Award.
Arup collaborated with Lendlease, Macquarie Group, Sydney Metro, Grimshaw, Johnson Pilton Walker and Tzannes Associates to deliver two new towers above a new station.
As lead engineering consultant, Arup provided expertise across 20 disciplines. Arup facilitated collaboration between the three architectural firms, solving complex technical engineering challenges, balancing historical sensitivity with sustainability principles.
“Working closely with our project partners and numerous stakeholders, we overcame significant site constraints and challenged standard design practices to deliver a unique, inclusive, vibrant precinct,” says Arup Project Lead Andy McGuinness.
In the digital space, Arup’s OCTO (Offshore Wind Cable Transmission Optimisation) tool won Planning for a Digital Future Award.
Leveraging advanced digital technology, OCTO optimises offshore wind farm planning, reducing costs and environmental impact.
“Winning this award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team,” says Damon Sunderland, Arup WA Energy Leader. “OCTO is a game-changer for the offshore wind industry.”
Arup also won the Superior Sustainability Award for its pioneering work in
low-carbon concrete solutions. By replacing traditional cement with sustainable alternatives, Arup has cut emissions by 30% across $6 billion in Australian infrastructure projects.
“This award is a testament to the dedication and innovative spirit of our team,” says Arup Principal Joan Ko. “Our work in developing sustainable concrete solutions is transforming the industry and making a significant environmental impact.”
Arup also received high commendation in the Innovation for Excellence category.
“Arup’s wins across sustainability, collaboration and digital innovation highlights an exceptional commitment to delivering lasting value for clients and communities,” says Jonathan Cartledge, Chief Executive Officer of Consult Australia.
