With the Australian Government investing $45 billion in defence infrastructure over the next decade, Collab X 2025 is the must-attend event for Consult Australia members looking to expand their footprint and understand infrastructure trends and priorities in the Defence sector.

TSet for 5-6 March in Canberra, Collab X 2025 offers an expanded 1.5-day program with in-depth coverage of key defence infrastructure investments and structured opportunities to engage with senior Defence and industry leaders.


Now in its fourth year, Collab X brings together engineering and design consultants and the Defence Security and Estate Group (SEG), which plays a critical role in delivering essential defence and security services and infrastructure solutions.


“Our open conference format encourages questions from the floor, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas, while networking opportunities throughout the day help participants to forge valuable new connections,” says Matt Williams, Consult Australia’s Defence Manager. “There’s no other conference like it.”

Highlights of the program include:

  • Keynote speakers: Addresses from Deputy Secretary Security and Estate Celia Perkins, First Assistant Secretary Pat Sowry and the Department of Defence’s new Director General for Capital Facilities and Infrastructure, Colonel Matthew Quinn.
  • Focus on maritime infrastructure: Standalone sessions on maritime infrastructure and nuclear-powered submarines reflect the Australian Government’s investment priorities.
  • Indigenous business partnerships: A dedicated session on strengthening collaborations with Indigenous businesses.
  • Northern Australia investments: Expanded coverage of the significant infrastructure investments in Defence’s northern bases.
  • ACA sessions: Two sessions hosted by the Australian Constructors Association, include one on improving productivity.
  • Networking: Two special networking sessions, one with a new construction panel leaders, will offer unparalleled opportunities for industry connections.

Members of Consult Australia’s Defence Roundtable will also take part in panel sessions to share their experiences of working on defence infrastructure projects.
