The room where it happens

Some conversations only happen behind closed doors. Consult Australia’s Boardroom Luncheons are where they take shape.
These member-only events draw senior leaders, government decision-makers and industry voices shaping Australia’s infrastructure and built environment. The topics on the table range from procurement settings and pipeline risks to delivery constraints and political realities. No stage, no script.
Take three recent examples.
In New South Wales, Anita Mitchell OAM, Chief Executive at Placemaking NSW, offered a candid view of how her team is stewarding some of the state’s most complex and culturally significant precincts, from Barangaroo to Bays West.
In the Northern Territory, Bill Yan, Minister for Infrastructure and Treasurer, explored the Top End’s infrastructure priorities, pipeline and economic direction.
And in Queensland, Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie led a wide-ranging discussion spanning energy, housing, critical minerals and Olympic delivery, with a clear focus on the partnerships needed to transform ambition into action.

Small room, big signals
Recent guests have included infrastructure chiefs, treasury leaders, department heads and political decision-makers from across the country.
“Our guests don’t deliver keynote speeches in the traditional sense,” says Linda Gaunt, Consult Australia’s Head of Engagement. “These are working sessions, and the value lies as much in the questions as the answers.”
“Each event is tightly curated and seats are limited. Discussions are held under Chatham House Rule, and the result is rare openness and frank dialogue. For members, it’s a chance to hear directly from those shaping policy and investment decisions.”

Next seat at the table
The next Boardroom Luncheon will bring NSW Treasury Deputy Secretary Michael Gadiel into the room on Thursday 7 May.
The focus? How NSW Treasury’s strategy is shaping procurement reform.
Jeremy Conway, Chief Executive of Infrastructure SA, will sit down with Adelaide members on Wednesday 10 June, while Melbourne members can connect with Evan Mulholland MP on Friday 12 June.
Attendance to each event is capped, with tickets limited per organisation.
“If you’re in the room, you’re part of a conversation you can’t have anywhere else,” Linda says.
