Virtual Forum – Working with Local Government

We understand that some councils are facing difficulties in the current economic climate. This is resulting in projects being placed on hold and/or not being released. We know our members, especially SME’s are particularly reliant on the pipeline of work from local councils.

The LGA(SA) has several strategies to support councils in the current situation.

In this forum you will hear from the LGA(SA) about these strategies and how they position councils to continue rolling out the pipeline of projects.

We will then move to an open discussion with our speakers about how Councils are managing in the new world. This virtual forum will explore

  • Council’s current day-to-day forward planning

  • Plans for Councils’ accessing stimulus funding and understanding what quantum of stimulus Council may have access to

  • What advice and assistance is being provided to Councils from both the State and Commonwealth Governments at this stage

  • Can consultants provide assistance to Councils not only to just "keep things moving" but to ramp things up

  • Can we assist by providing advice on project prioritisation, or with funding applications, business case etc

Consult Australia invites you to join us for this forum. It is in all our best interests to work together and keep each other in work – so how can we as an industry lend support to Council to allow important works to continue or be initiated even during this challenging time. With a strong local government sector, we can work together to ensure continuity of projects for both local councils, their communities, and our industry.
