SA Industry Breakfast: ‘Building the Future – Lot Fourteen with the City Deal’

Thursday 29 August 2019 I 7:30am - 9:00am I The Playford Adelaide, North Terrace

The Adelaide City Deal is a 10-year agreement between the Australian Government, the Government of South Australia and the City of Adelaide to grow Adelaide as an innovative and vibrant city. Governments will work together to deliver projects and initiatives that support the growth of businesses and jobs, encourage the growth of Adelaide’s population, and build on the city’s global reputation in the arts and culture.

Currently, Lot Fourteen is being rapidly transformed into the innovation capital of the nation, with the Australian Space Agency, SmartSat CRC, Mission Control and the Space Discovery Centre all to call Adelaide home.

When combined, these developments represent a total investment of close to $300 million and this is attracting companies from across the defence, space and cyber sectors to establish themselves at Lot Fourteen and take advantage of the unparalleled collaborative opportunities on offer. The major infrastructure projects planned for Lot Fourteen, together with a focus on supporting Adelaide’s growth, will help take the city to the next level in terms of its potential to achieve major economic growth over the longer term.

The Adelaide City Deal also supports the establishment of an Innovation Hub, the Gallery for Aboriginal Art and Cultures, an International Centre for Food, Hospitality and Tourism Studies and an Indigenous Business Hub. The Governments’ 10-year, $551 million City Deal also includes investments in Adelaide beyond Lot Fourteen.

So, what does this all really mean for Adelaide? What comes next now the deal is signed? How do we leverage the opportunity of the city deal to make the most for South Australia? What lessons can be learned from other city deals around the country?

Join us at this session to find out!!!
