It is estimated that over the next 40 years NSW will grow to over 11.2 million residents, be Australia’s first trillion-dollar economy and that our transport network will need to handle more than 28 million trips a day. With Sydney itself estimated to grow to approximately 8 million people by 2056, the metropolitan Sydney area of the future will need to be dramatically different to the city of today and will require a substantially different approach to meet these future socio-economic and critical infrastructure needs.

For the first time in its history, Sydney now has an integrated planning strategy developing a metropolis of three individual city centres supported by world class critical infrastructure networks and an integrated land use plan. This integrated planning strategy outlines the collaborative efforts made by the Greater Sydney Commissions Greater Sydney 2056 plan, Transport for NSW’s Future Transport 2056 Strategy, Infrastructure NSW’s State Infrastructure Strategy, and the Department of Planning and Environment’s Regional Plans.

Join us as we explore what these plans actually mean for Sydney and the greater Sydney Region. Our industry speakers will provide an overview and insights into the Greater Sydney 2056 plan and the Future Transport 2056 Strategy and will be available to answer your questions on the challenges and impacts of the plans.
