Representing Australia’s largest state, the New South Wales Division provides advocacy, training and events for member firms of Consult Australia based in Sydney, Newcastle and surrounding regions.

The Division also provides regular Industry Updates, facilitates the local FutureNet Business Leaders Course (see the 2017 flyer) ran yearly for a select group of future industry leaders.

The operations of the Division are
 supported and overseen by a State (Division) Committee consisting of leading industry representatives, as well as two FutureNet Committees that focus on the needs of young professionals.

Event Types

  • A Seat at the Table Consulting Leadership Boardroom Luncheon Series - Hosted in an intimate setting to enable an open discussion, each event enables members to raise and discuss critical issues affecting businesses by providing exclusive access to key decision-makers in both the public and private sectors. These luncheons are for professionals and strategic thinkers wanting to participate in the conversations that are shaping our industry.
  • Meet the Client Engagement Events - These interactive opportunities for members and non-members allow them to meet and build deeper relationships with key clients from the public and private sectors. Typically includes an introduction to the client’s operations, discussion on how the company would like to be supported by the consulting industry, and recent project case studies in buildings, infrastructure and rail.
  • FutureNet Events for Future Industry Leaders - As part of the FutureNet program, these events are tailored to help build the knowledge and networks of young professionals who will be the industry leaders of tomorrow. Consult Australia coordinates a series of events throughout the year in conjunction with representative committees in Sydney and Newcastle.
  • Breakfasts and Luncheons - Consult Australia also coordinates additional events throughout the year on topics relevant to the industry.

Safety in Design

This intensive two-day seminar addresses safety issues relating to design and provides practical tools on how to eliminate hazards at the design stage. Examples of documentation and procedures are given so you can incorporate SiD into your day-to-day practices. Review contracts with confidence. This two-and-a-half day course will systematically take you through each element of a contract so you know what to look out for, how to deal with onerous terms, and how to ensure your insurance will respond. This one day in-house program addresses the legal principles which underpin the role of the superintendent in administering construction and engineering contracts.
